Atletico Madrid has publicly mocked Barcelona following circulating rumors about the latter's interest in signing Argentine star Julian Alvarez. The Spanish club released a series of sarcastic posts on its official social media accounts, stirring widespread debate online.
The club began its statement with a cryptic message saying, "In a few minutes, we will publish a statement regarding an important matter that is generating many misleading news reports."
Shortly after, Atletico surprised its followers with another sarcastic post featuring an image of young talent Lamin Yamal wearing an Atletico Madrid jersey. The post included a message stating, "A fax was sent to Barcelona's official account containing our offer: 4 tickets to Bad Bunny's concert tomorrow, a yearly subscription to ABC newspaper, and a bag of seeds. We eagerly await a response to prepare the announcement of the deal."
The club did not stop there; it also posted an additional comment in English, noting, "Remember, it only took us five minutes to create this fake post."
