Brazilian Coaches See Andrey Santos as Casemiro's Successor at Manchester United
Brazilian national team coaches consider Andrey Santos the future replacement for Casemiro, as Manchester United secures the young midfielder despite medical issues with Ederson.

Manchester United has secured Andrey Santos from Chelsea as a potential long-term successor to Casemiro, who is set to join Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
The club faced a major challenge this summer in replacing Casemiro, who recommended Ederson from Atalanta before his departure. United acted quickly to sign Ederson, but the 26-year-old made only two brief substitute appearances and failed to impress.
Medical Issues Affect Ederson's Transfer
Concerns arose after Ederson underwent a medical examination in the United States that did not satisfy Manchester United’s standards. He is currently in Manchester for a more comprehensive medical, and there remains a possibility that the transfer might not be completed.
Despite this uncertainty, United fans can take comfort in the acquisition of Andrey Santos, a player highly regarded in Brazil.
High Regard for Andrey Santos in Brazil
Journalist Ben Jacobs reported that although Santos was not included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, coaches within the national team view him as the ideal candidate to fill Casemiro’s role in midfield.
Jacobs quoted, “The expectation in the Brazil camp is that Andrey Santos is the person to fill the shoes of Casemiro in the no. 6 role.”
Positive Outlook for United’s Transfer Strategy
If Santos fulfills these expectations, Manchester United will have made a significant acquisition amid a costly market. The club anticipates finalizing Santos’s contract on Friday, alongside fellow new signing Karl Darlow.
