Manchester United has reached a full agreement with Chelsea to secure the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier reports from David Ornstein indicated that the deal was finalized, and Romano has now confirmed the details, signaling the imminent completion of the transfer.

Financial Terms and Contract Details

The transfer fee agreed upon is £48 million, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons that are expected to be easily met. Chelsea will retain a 10% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

Romano has stated that the medical examination is scheduled within the next 24 hours, and the contract, which will run until June 2031, is expected to be signed tomorrow.

Rapid Progress Following Market Quiet

This agreement follows a quiet spell in the transfer market for Manchester United after missing out on Mateus Fernandes, who joined Tottenham Hotspur. The club has moved swiftly to finalize the Santos deal.

Interest in Andrey Santos, who hails from Rio de Janeiro, has intensified only in recent days. In comparison, a deal for another Brazilian, Ederson, was agreed weeks earlier but remains incomplete due to the player's World Cup call-up.

Potential First Signing and Player Profile

If the transfer is completed tomorrow as anticipated, Santos will become Manchester United’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old Brazil international is regarded as a promising talent and is viewed by many as a natural replacement for the departing Casemiro. His acquisition represents strong value in this summer’s inflated transfer market.
