Cristiano Ronaldo dismissed rumors about his fitness problems before joining Portugal for the 2026 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo ridiculed rumors regarding his fitness struggles as he prepared to join Portugal's national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 41-year-old veteran told ESPN on Saturday, "Physically? I'm fine — haven't you watched my matches?"
Ronaldo expressed satisfaction with Portugal's preparations for their opening match against the Democratic Republic of Congo scheduled for next Wednesday. He stated, "The preparations were good, although exhausting, because we exerted a lot of effort."
He added, "We controlled the flow of the friendly matches, but the important part is the official start of the tournament (for Portugal) on the 17th of this month in the first match. Then the pressure will increase, and we will see the true champions."
Ronaldo aims to win his first World Cup title during his sixth participation in the tournament, which would tie the record for the most appearances by a player in World Cup history.
