Cristiano Ronaldo’s Path to Acting Hinges on Formal Training, Says Frank Leboeuf
Frank Leboeuf advises Cristiano Ronaldo to undertake acting courses to succeed in Hollywood after his football career, highlighting the need for discipline and professional training.

Cristiano Ronaldo, while concentrating on his ongoing football career and the 2026 World Cup, is reportedly considering a future in acting after retirement. Those who have transitioned from sports to cinema believe he can excel if he commits to proper preparation.
Frank Leboeuf, former French international and World Cup winner who transitioned into acting, emphasized that Ronaldo must approach acting with the same dedication he showed in football. Speaking for CSB to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Leboeuf stated, "Cristiano Ronaldo will be a great actor if he does one thing right … If he wants to do it, I have advice for him: do acting courses. Don’t think you’re an actor just like that. He’s been the best example of working hard to become one of the best football players in the world. So, in order to become an actor, you also have to work. I’m pretty sure Cristiano Ronaldo will be a great actor. I wish him the best, but he has to follow acting courses. He has to respect the world of this industry."
Leboeuf warned against the pitfalls of amateurism, noting that talent and celebrity status alone do not guarantee success in acting. He highlighted the importance of mastering vocal technique and stage presence, skills that require formal education. To illustrate, he mentioned former player Adil Rami's recent theatrical work, saying, "I saw Adil Rami was doing a play for the past four months, but not following courses. And when they asked me what I thought, I said, I didn’t see him. I don’t want to see him because I know what he’s going to be lacking. He’s going to be lacking voice and presentation. That’s just normal because he doesn’t know it’s a job. It’s a real job."
Meanwhile, speculation about Ronaldo's involvement in Hollywood is growing. Actor Vin Diesel fueled rumors by suggesting that Ronaldo could appear in the upcoming final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, titled Fast Forever. Diesel hinted on social media that filmmakers have already created a role for the Portuguese forward.
Ronaldo has previously expressed interest in acting during interviews. Although he remains focused on scoring goals in the Saudi Pro League, his ambitions appear to extend beyond football. A potential cameo alongside Diesel and others in the franchise would mark a significant entry into the entertainment industry.
In addition to acting, Ronaldo has launched his own independent film studio, UR•MARV, in April 2025. This venture is a collaboration with British director Matthew Vaughn, aiming to merge sports and storytelling through innovative technology to produce high-quality action films for a global audience.
The partnership with Vaughn, known for directing Kingsman, has already resulted in financing two action movies. Ronaldo described this new phase as "an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business." Vaughn praised Ronaldo as a "real-life superhero" who has crafted stories on the football field that surpass what any screenwriter could imagine.
