Barcelona officially concluded their 2025-2026 season as German coach Hansi Flick conducted the team's final training session last Friday. Following this, the squad entered a summer break lasting nearly two months, with players not scheduled to regroup until mid-July.

Currently, Barcelona's players are either on vacation or awaiting call-ups to their national teams. Some, like Uruguayan Ronald Araújo, traveled on Sunday, while others remain recovering from injuries.

Although the club has not yet publicly confirmed exact dates, the plan involves a gradual return of players based on their international performances in the World Cup. Their reintegration will depend on how far their national teams advanced in the tournament, ensuring each player receives several weeks of adequate rest.

The first team meeting is slated for July 12 or 13 in Barcelona, where players will undergo standard medical examinations before officially commencing preseason preparations.

In a notable shift, Flick has decided to cancel the usual summer tours that Barcelona has participated in during previous seasons. The German coach expressed dissatisfaction with those tours and their impact on the squad’s readiness.

Instead, available players will travel to England to attend a closed preparatory training camp at St George’s Park, the training base of the English national team. The camp will last between one and ten days.

No official friendly matches will take place during this camp, signaling Flick’s intention to focus entirely on physical and tactical preparation without the distractions of exhibition games and commercial obligations that typically accompany summer tours.

This decision reflects Flick’s philosophy of prioritizing technical and physical readiness over marketing considerations, aiming to ensure an optimal start to the new season following a challenging previous campaign.
