From Camp Nou Exit to a €300 Million Property Empire
Former Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite has built a sprawling real estate portfolio across three continents, with his holding company now valued at over €300 million.

Martin Braithwaite’s career after leaving Barcelona has taken a sharp turn into high-stakes property investment. The Danish forward has quietly assembled one of the most formidable real estate operations among active footballers in Spain, with his company’s total assets now exceeding €300 million.
Spanish newspaper El Espanol traced the origins of his fortune back more than a decade to a single, modest purchase: an apartment in the Charlottenlund district north of Copenhagen, bought for €150,000. That initial stake, the paper reported, became the foundation for a sprawling network of residential and commercial properties spanning Denmark, the United States, and Spain.
The Engine Behind the Growth
At the heart of Braithwaite’s real estate wealth sits NYCE Companies, a US-based firm managed by his uncle. The footballer holds a majority stake, and the company has carved out a clear niche: acquiring buildings, rehabilitating them, and placing them on the rental market. Since NYCE entered the Spanish market in 2022, the project has drawn significant attention from both economic and sports media. The firm has snapped up residential complexes in high-demand areas, restored them, and offered them for rent or sale, relying on business models designed to generate steady cash flow.
Sources close to the former Barcelona player indicate that NYCE’s valuation is now approaching €300 million, backed by its massive property portfolio and rising annual revenues.
Diversification and Ambition
Braithwaite has not stopped at NYCE. In Spain, he is establishing his own development firm, SCAD, and has acquired land in upscale areas such as the La Pedrera district in Costa Dorada, where he is exploring high-end residential projects. His investment strategy extends beyond real estate: he retains a keen interest in club ownership, driven by a strong desire to become a prominent figure in the multi-club ownership model, mirroring investors who have brought that structure to numerous European teams.
Braithwaite stands out as one of the most deeply engaged current footballers in the world of finance and business, relying on a strategy that combines long-term decision-making, exploiting real estate market cycles, and managing assets across multiple countries.
