Harry Kane to Extend Bayern Munich Contract, Rejects Barcelona Interest
Harry Kane will remain at Bayern Munich by signing a new contract, turning down interest from Barcelona, as confirmed by sources close to the player.

Harry Kane is set to continue his tenure at Bayern Munich by agreeing to a contract extension, dismissing Barcelona's recent interest in acquiring the striker.
The England captain was unexpectedly targeted by the La Liga club, which reached out to his representatives while exploring the possibility of bringing him to Camp Nou.
Nevertheless, Kane’s team communicated to Barcelona that he is content at Bayern and does not plan to depart the German champions.
Currently, Kane’s contract with Bayern extends until the summer of 2027, with ongoing negotiations regarding an extension having taken place over several months.
Bayern Munich remains optimistic about securing the 32-year-old striker’s commitment to new terms, aiming to prolong his successful period with the club.
Although Kane had the option to activate a release clause this summer, it required notification to Bayern by January, which he did not pursue.
Barcelona’s inquiry was intended to assess Kane’s potential availability rather than constitute a formal transfer proposal.
Kane’s representatives have stated that discussions about his future will be postponed until after the 2026 World Cup, with all signs indicating he will stay at Allianz Arena.
Kane’s remarkable performance in Germany supports the decision to remain, as he has demonstrated prolific scoring ability since joining Bayern.
Since his £86.4 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane has netted 146 goals over three seasons with Bayern.
This goal tally places him seventh on Bayern’s all-time scoring list and has contributed to two Bundesliga championship wins.
During the 2025/26 season, Kane recorded 61 goals and seven assists in 51 matches across all competitions.
Currently, Kane is concentrating on leading England’s campaign at the World Cup under coach Thomas Tuchel.
He has already scored 11 goals in the tournament, including strikes against Croatia and Panama.
Kane is expected to captain England in their round of 32 match against DR Congo.
