Joshua Kimmich, the Bayern Munich star, has shared insights into why his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain did not materialize.

In a documentary recently aired on ZDF, Kimmich confirmed PSG's interest in acquiring him during the 2024 summer transfer period.

He stated, "I spoke with the sporting director (Luis Campos) and the coach (Luis Enrique). I have to say they did an excellent job and gave me the impression that they really wanted me, so naturally, you start to think about it."

Kimmich added, "That made me think deeply. I was supposed to be an important part of the team as a more experienced player. That definitely affects you. PSG made me an offer. The financial aspect was incredible. Truly. Extremely impressive, I have to say."

He further explained, "Actually, when PSG won the Champions League for the first time, I had already decided to stay at Bayern Munich. For me, that was confirmation that I made the right decision. One of my main motivations for changing clubs was to win the Champions League with PSG for the first time in their history. But that strong motivation faded then."

Kimmich continued, "During PSG's second title win, what surprised me most was facing them in the semifinals. I was eager to win badly, which unfortunately did not happen. Nevertheless, I know I am where I am now. Looking back, I feel completely comfortable with my decision, and that is a great feeling."
