Lewandowski confirms Barcelona exit at season's end

Robert Lewandowski has formally declared his departure from Barcelona, posting a farewell message across his official social media accounts. The Polish striker will leave the Spanish club once the current season finishes.

On Instagram, Lewandowski shared an emotional video montage featuring his finest memories and goals in a Barcelona shirt. The clip was accompanied by a written goodbye in which he reflected on his time at the Camp Nou.

"After 4 years full of challenges and hard work, it is time to move forward," Lewandowski wrote. "I leave with the feeling that the mission has been accomplished successfully — 4 seasons and 3 titles."

The 36-year-old forward expressed deep gratitude toward the Catalan supporters. "I will never forget the flood of emotion and love you have shown me since my very first day. Catalonia was, and still is, my favourite place on Earth."

Lewandowski singled out Barcelona president Joan Laporta for special thanks in his message. "I thank everyone I have met during these beautiful four years, and I especially thank president Joan Laporta, who gave me the opportunity to live the most exciting and astonishing chapter of my professional career."

He closed his statement with an upbeat note about the club's trajectory. "Barcelona has now returned to its natural place, the place it deserves. Long live Barcelona, long live Catalonia."

The Polish international's contract with the Catalan side officially expires on June 30. This season, Lewandowski has featured in 44 matches for Barcelona, scoring 18 goals and providing 4 assists, though he has spent much of the campaign on the bench.

The club also acknowledged the departure on social media, posting: "Came as a star. Leaves as legend. Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every battle, and every magic moment wearing these colours. Culer forever."
