Liverpool, Galatasaray probe Sarr as groin injury sidelines 28-year-old
Liverpool and Galatasaray have both made inquiries about Ismaila Sarr, who will miss Crystal Palace’s first home match of the season against Manchester City due to a groin injury.

A groin injury will keep 28-year-old Ismaila Sarr out of Crystal Palace’s first home fixture of the Premier League season — Friday night’s match against Manchester City at Selhurst Park.
The absence follows his omission from Palace’s squad for the opening-weekend defeat to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where he was a high-profile absentee despite his status as a regular starter.
Palace head coach Pierre Sage confirmed Sarr is undergoing individual training sessions and is experiencing pain in his groin, adding: “Ismaila Sarr is in individual sessions. He is in pain with his groin – that’s why you didn’t see him [train] with us today.”
Sarr did not take part in team training during the two days prior to the Everton match, having reported discomfort in the area.
This same groin issue is the reason for his continued unavailability ahead of the Manchester City visit.
Transfer interest intensifies amid injury absence
Galatasaray have reportedly submitted an offer valued at approximately £30 million for Sarr’s services.
In parallel, Liverpool have conducted checks on the player, though no formal bid or negotiations have occurred to date.
The Reds are seeking two wide attackers before the summer transfer window closes on September 1 and have already agreed a deal in principle for Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.
It remains uncertain whether Sarr will remain at Crystal Palace beyond the conclusion of the transfer window.
