Liverpool Targets PSG's Bradley Barcola After Diomande Chooses Paris
Liverpool shifts focus to PSG winger Bradley Barcola after Yan Diomande opts to join Paris Saint-Germain instead of the Reds.

Following Yan Diomande's decision to favor Paris Saint-Germain over Liverpool, the English club is now pursuing PSG winger Bradley Barcola as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Diomande, the 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger, has attracted significant attention from Liverpool but is expected to complete a move to the Ligue 1 champions. Despite Liverpool’s strong interest, the prospect of joining PSG has persuaded the Ivorian international, especially after his World Cup performances this summer.
Footmercato reports that PSG is confident about finalizing a deal with Leipzig soon. Leipzig initially demanded a high transfer fee, which led Liverpool to withdraw after refusing to surpass their internal valuation of the player.
Liverpool's Alternative Transfer Target
With Diomande likely heading to Paris, Liverpool has turned its attention to Bradley Barcola, as reported by Sky Sports. The 23-year-old French winger is on a shortlist of candidates identified by Liverpool's recruitment team as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah. This follows Liverpool’s recent signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
Barcola's position at PSG is currently uncertain. Although highly regarded, he has expressed frustration over limited playing time in crucial matches. Notably, he was omitted from the starting lineup in PSG's recent Champions League final win against Arsenal, raising questions about his future under coach Luis Enrique.
PSG's Position on Barcola's Future
PSG is not actively seeking to sell Barcola but may consider a transfer this summer. With only two years left on his contract, this window represents PSG’s final chance to secure a substantial transfer fee if Barcola declines to renew. The club intends to demand a premium price but is unlikely to block a suitable offer.
Arsenal has also been linked with Barcola, though their current transfer focus lies elsewhere. Liverpool appears most determined to challenge PSG for the winger’s signature, especially if Barcola returns from international duty dissatisfied with his role.
Barcola's Achievements with PSG
Barcola joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 for a €45 million transfer fee. Since then, he has made 152 appearances across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists. His tenure at PSG includes winning 12 trophies, among them two Champions League titles and three Ligue 1 championships.
During the World Cup group stage, Barcola scored against Senegal and assisted a goal against Norway while representing the French national team.
