Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool's strong interest in Bradley Barcola, emphasizing the club's commitment despite financial uncertainties and PSG's stance.

Liverpool have maintained their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, a player valued at €130 million, with Fabrizio Romano expressing unwavering certainty about the club’s interest in the winger.
The club's transfer activity this summer has been limited, having secured Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but this acquisition alone has not addressed all squad needs. Liverpool's requirement for a winger has intensified following the departures of Luis Diaz in 2025 and Mohamed Salah recently, which left the team lacking pace and direct attacking options on the flanks.
Initially, Yan Diomande was targeted to fill this role; however, his preference to join Paris Saint-Germain has altered Liverpool’s plans. Consequently, the club appears to be negotiating directly with PSG, not for Diomande, but for Barcola instead.
Back in April, Anfield Watch reported that Barcola was considered a “market opportunity” for Liverpool, a position that remains unchanged. Romano reiterated this point in a YouTube video, stating, “Let me repeat, today, yesterday, last month, two months ago, three months ago – Barcola is the top, top, top target of Liverpool. Liverpool love Barcola.”
Romano acknowledged skepticism among fans and observers regarding the likelihood of the transfer, noting, “I don’t know if it’s going to be possible financially but what I can tell you for sure is that Liverpool remain super keen on Bradley Barcola.”
This level of certainty from Romano is uncommon, particularly given the limited external indications that the deal is progressing. Liverpool have been monitoring Barcola as a contingency option for some time, prepared to act if he became available.
The main obstacle remains PSG’s reluctance to sell, with any potential transfer requiring a substantial financial offer. The situation could evolve depending on developments involving Diomande, which may influence PSG’s willingness to negotiate.
