Diallo’s injury timeline and stats
Diallo has not played this season following an ankle injury incurred during pre-season preparations. This setback has kept him out for all seven matches contested by the club during the opening month of the 2026/2027 campaign.
The winger arrives at this juncture after a notable World Cup performance for the Ivory Coast, where he scored two goals across four appearances on football’s premier stage over the summer. To secure a productive tenure with United in the months ahead, Diallo must surpass his statistical output from the 2025/2026 term.
Last season, despite featuring in 32 Premier League games—starting 27 of them—he recorded only two goals and four assists. At one point, he endured a drought of 16 consecutive matches without registering a goal or assist.
Other players sidelined for Carrick
Manager Michael Carrick remains hopeful for the availability of defender Matthijs de Ligt, who has been absent since November 2025 due to a back injury. De Ligt has yet to feature under Carrick’s current leadership.
