In a friendly match held early today, Mexico's national football team achieved a decisive 5-1 win against Serbia. This match served as part of Mexico's preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, featuring 48 teams for the first time in the tournament's history.
Mexico's goals were scored by Jon Vásquez, with two own goals by Serbia's Bukanić and Adem Avdić, as well as goals from Raúl Jiménez and Luis Chávez. These goals occurred at the 34th, 45th, 57th, 72nd, and 90th minutes of the match. Serbia's sole goal was netted by Petar Stanišić in the 19th minute.
