Israeli Army: We Attacked Hezbollah Elements and Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon

Spokeswoman for the Israeli army, Ila Wawaya, stated that "the Israeli army attacked elements and infrastructure affiliated with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, in response to the launch of two suicide drones toward us in the security zone."

Wawaya said via her account on the platform "X": "As part of the airstrikes, the Air Force targeted weapons storage facilities and buildings designated for Hezbollah's use in planning and directing terrorist operations in the security zone. Additionally, a Hezbollah command center located within a building previously used as a hospital in a region in southern Lebanon was struck."

She added: "In recent periods, Hezbollah operated from this facility, focusing among other things on reconnaissance and artillery activities. All targets were hit to eliminate the threat, following Hezbollah’s deployment of terrorist plans against the Israeli Defense Forces and Israeli civilians from these locations. Hezbollah also uses medical infrastructure to advance terrorist operations."

She continued: "The airstrikes were carried out in response to an attempt by the Hezbollah organization to carry out an operation yesterday against Israeli Defense Forces units operating in the Ali al-Tahir Heights area, during which two suicide drones were launched toward the forces. There are no casualties among our troops. Prior to carrying out the airstrikes, measures were taken to minimize expected civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial reconnaissance."

She concluded: "We will continue operations in the Ali al-Tahir Heights area, and we will not allow elements in the region to plan and carry out attacks against us. We will not allow Hezbollah to threaten Israeli citizens or the Israeli army, and we will continue working to neutralize threats while adhering to the ceasefire agreement."
