Through at least 31 December, 20-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick will remain on Real Madrid’s roster — a decision jointly reached by head coach José Mourinho, club officials, and the player. The announcement halts ongoing speculation regarding a possible loan or permanent transfer during the current transfer window.

What changed in Endrick’s status?

The Athletic and AS both reported that Mourinho has chosen to retain Endrick despite deep competition across Real Madrid’s forward line — notably from Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior — and the player’s limited pathway to regular first-team action.

His recent performances at Lyon

In the second half of last season, Endrick was registered with Olympique Lyon in French Ligue 1. He featured in 21 matches, scoring eight goals and recording eight assists. Those performances contributed to his inclusion in Brazil’s World Cup squad.

Pre-season and competitive record at Real

Endrick scored the opening goal in Real Madrid’s 2–2 pre-season friendly against AC Florence on 12 August. His contract with the club expires in 2030. Across all official competitions, he has made 40 appearances for Real Madrid, tallying seven goals and one assist.

World Cup involvement

Brazil were eliminated from the World Cup in the last 16 after a 2–1 defeat to Norway. National team coach Carlo Ancelotti substituted Endrick on four occasions during the tournament. He did not score in those appearances.
