Porto Rules Out Lewandowski Move, Citing Financial Hurdles
Porto president Andre Villas-Boas has definitively ruled out signing Robert Lewandowski, calling it financially impossible.

The financial obstacles are insurmountable, according to Porto president Andre Villas-Boas, who has categorically dismissed any possibility of the Portuguese club signing veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano relayed Villas-Boas' comments on his X account, quoting the president as stating: "As you can imagine, it is financially impossible for us to even think about Lewandowski."
At 37 years old, Lewandowski's current contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026. Speculation has linked him with a move to Italian side Juventus during the upcoming summer transfer window. His options are not confined to Europe, however, with clubs in the Saudi Pro League and the United States also reportedly in the mix. Previous reports have indicated that Saudi club Al-Hilal tabled an offer worth up to 90 million euros per season.
Since joining Barcelona from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 for 45 million euros, Lewandowski has contributed 18 goals and 4 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season. During his time with the Catalan club, the Polish striker has secured three La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cup trophies, and one Copa del Rey crown.
