Rashford Clarifies His Future Amid England's World Cup Campaign
Marcus Rashford has stated he postponed decisions about his future until after the World Cup, focusing fully on England's upcoming match against Mexico.

England's national team, led by Marcus Rashford, is preparing for a challenging Round of 16 match against Mexico at the iconic Estadio Azteca on Monday morning.
This encounter represents a tough test for the "Three Lions," not only because of the opponent's strength but also due to the hostile atmosphere expected from the Mexican fans. Nevertheless, England remains the favorite to win and advance to the quarterfinals.
The Estadio Azteca holds painful memories for England, as it was the site of one of football's most famous moments during the 1986 World Cup quarterfinals, when Argentine legend Diego Maradona scored his two iconic goals against England, according to The Guardian.
This time, England hopes to create a new chapter on the same ground to compensate for that lingering memory among its supporters.
Uncertainty remains regarding Rashford's starting role in the match, after he began the first two games of the tournament on the bench but later secured a place in the starting lineup over Anthony Gordon. Gordon transferred from Newcastle to Barcelona for 70 million euros before the World Cup and is set to debut at Camp Nou when the season resumes.
Rashford's potential move to Barcelona appears complicated, as the Spanish club has rejected the fees set by Manchester United to release him, and his position has been filled following Gordon's signing.
Reports indicate Rashford will return to training with Manchester United after the tournament, as he is still under contract until 2028.
During a press conference at the national team camp, Rashford addressed his future, confirming he preferred to delay any decisions about his next destination until after the World Cup.
The 28-year-old English forward said, "I was very clear with all parties involved before the World Cup. I wanted to resolve it beforehand, but if it wasn't settled, I would only deal with it after the tournament. I take things day by day and want to be fully present in this moment." He added, "We are fighting for something very important, and I don't have the energy to dedicate to anything else."
