Ruben Amorim Nears Milan Appointment After Declining Benfica and Saudi Offers
Ruben Amorim has declined offers from Benfica and Saudi Arabia, moving closer to becoming Milan's head coach with negotiations nearly finalized.

Ruben Amorim is reportedly on the verge of assuming the head coach position at Milan after rejecting proposals from Benfica and a Saudi Arabian club. Glorioso 1904 reports that he opted to await the Italian club’s offer.
Amorim prioritized Milan’s project over other recent opportunities, including the Lisbon-based team and a financially attractive Saudi offer. This decision has led to advanced discussions with the Rossoneri.
Sources indicate that negotiations with Milan are nearly concluded, with a contract expected to span two seasons until 2028, including an option to extend through 2029.
The former Benfica player is anticipated to receive a net annual salary of 3.5 million euros at Milan, supplemented by bonuses tied to winning trophies and qualifying for the Champions League.
Milan has failed to secure Champions League qualification in the last two seasons, finishing eighth in the 2024/2025 Serie A campaign and fifth in 2025/2026.
