Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has been ranked as the top African player of the 21st century in a new assessment published by SCORE90. The evaluation, which utilizes artificial intelligence to determine rankings, places the Trabzonspor striker at the head of a list featuring five prominent figures from the continent.

The AI-driven player rankings

Salah secured the first position, surpassing other notable stars who have made significant impacts on global football over recent years. Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o was placed second, followed by Ivorian Didier Drogba in third. His compatriot Yaya Touré occupied the fourth spot, while Senegalese Sadio Mané completed the top five.

This recognition reinforces Salah’s standing among the most distinguished players in African football history. His career includes numerous individual and collective achievements, alongside distinctive statistics recorded during his tenure with Liverpool before his move to Trabzonspor and his service with the Egyptian national team.

Trabzonspor faces Finnish club

In related developments, tickets for Trabzonspor’s upcoming match against Finnish side KuPS sold out rapidly. The Turkish club, which features Salah as captain of the Egyptian national team, will play away against KuPS on October 15. The fixture is part of the league phase of the European Conference League and is scheduled to take place at Tamela Stadium in Tampere.

Turkish reports indicated that all available seats at Tamela Stadium, which holds approximately 8,000 spectators, were purchased within four days of going on sale. This swift sell-out reflects high demand from fans eager to watch Salah compete on the pitch.

Yakup Yılmaz, a resident of Trabzon currently living in Finland, noted that a substantial portion of the tickets was acquired by Turkish supporters. He attributed this trend to the intense interest in following both Trabzonspor and their star player, Mohamed Salah.
