Three Crocodiles Spotted Near Portugal's Training Camp in Miami
Three crocodiles were seen near Portugal's training camp in Miami, prompting safety warnings for players during the 2026 World Cup preparations.

Unexpected incidents have continued to arise at the training camps of teams participating in the 2026 World Cup, stirring debate and reactions concerning the organizational conditions of the tournament hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Several teams' training sites and accommodations have reported sightings of dangerous animals such as snakes and crocodiles, raising numerous questions about the protection of the teams and the provision of safe training and rest environments.
According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates encountered an unwelcome surprise on Thursday evening during their training session when unwanted guests appeared at their training facility.
The reliable Portuguese outlet reported, "Three crocodiles were spotted near Portugal's training camp in Miami," adding that the training ground is adjacent to a lake, which led to the crocodiles being present in the surrounding area.
Sources revealed that officials installed warning signs advising players and team members to avoid approaching the water's edge closer than 15 meters to ensure their safety.
Although the presence of such predatory animals is considered normal in some American cities due to proximity to forests, lakes, and valleys, this incident attracted media and fan attention focused on Portugal’s preparations.
A Bola stated that the crocodile sightings near Portugal’s training camp prompted security warnings for players and staff, noting that the animals now roam freely in the lake beside the training field. Simultaneously, precautionary measures were implemented to prevent the crocodiles from coming too close to the water’s edge.
Meanwhile, the Swiss team raised concerns about dangerous animals near their camp in San Diego, reporting the presence of venomous snakes close to their accommodation and training locations.
Additionally, media sources indicated that the Norwegian team’s camp, situated near forested areas, experienced sightings of crocodiles and snakes, with the delegation receiving warnings about the presence of hazardous wildlife.
