Uli Hoeneß Steps In to Advance Konrad Laimer's Bayern Contract Talks
FC Bayern's contract discussions with Konrad Laimer are nearing completion after club president Uli Hoeneß personally intervened in the negotiations.

Contract talks between FC Bayern Munich and defender Konrad Laimer, which have been ongoing for an extended period, are reportedly close to resolution following direct involvement from club president Uli Hoeneß.
According to Sport1, Hoeneß took an active role in the negotiations with the Austrian player, presenting Bayern's strict financial conditions to Laimer's representatives. This intervention has paved the way for a positive outcome in the discussions.
Laimer, who has expressed his desire to remain in Munich and has often stated that he feels at home with the club, is expected to receive only a modest salary increase should he agree to extend his current contract, which is set to expire in summer 2027.
FC Bayern appears prepared to allow Laimer to leave on a free transfer if an agreement is not reached, indicating the club's willingness to part ways without a transfer fee.
Following Bayern Munich's 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the cup final, Laimer maintained a positive attitude toward renewing his contract. He also made light of earlier criticism from Hoeneß, who had previously expressed strong disapproval of Laimer's wage demands.
Hoeneß had notably remarked on DAZN, "He's not Maradona!" in response to reports about Laimer's salary expectations. Despite this, current reports suggest that an agreement is close, with Bayern reportedly standing firm on their terms and, as Max Eberl indicated, being willing to accept Laimer's departure on a free transfer after one year if necessary.
