Nighttime Severe Headache May Signal Life-Threatening Conditions
Dr. Alexander Myasnikov warns that sudden severe headaches at night can indicate serious, potentially fatal illnesses requiring immediate medical attention.

Dr. Alexander Myasnikov has indicated that experiencing severe headaches during the night could be a symptom of life-threatening diseases.
He explained that such headaches might result from brain aneurysms, tumors, or infections, all of which can cause headaches. Doctors rely on warning signs, including headaches that wake a person at night for the first time in their life.
Dr. Myasnikov also highlighted additional symptoms that warrant concern, such as headaches appearing for the first time in individuals over fifty years old, or headaches whose intensity changes with body position, especially when accompanied by speech disturbances or numbness. He emphasized that the emergence of these signs requires immediate medical consultation.
Furthermore, Dr. Andrey Kondrakhin stressed the importance of not ignoring recurrent headaches, as they may increase the risk of stroke. He clarified that headaches can sometimes be early indicators of brain hemorrhage.
Dr. Myasnikov also cautioned about persistent mood deterioration, prolonged fatigue, and increasing anxiety lasting more than a month, urging individuals to seek specialist advice. He noted that these conditions may be accompanied by symptoms such as loss of appetite and diminished basic motivation, which could indicate psychological and emotional exhaustion potentially leading to depression.
