Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdul Aati held a phone call with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to consult on the developments witnessed in Lebanon.
During the call, Abdul Aati affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Lebanon in facing the current precise challenges, emphasizing the Egyptian position calling for the necessity of a complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, stressing that any infringement on Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity constitutes a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and Security Council Resolution 1701.
He also stressed the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, especially the Lebanese army, to enable them to assume their responsibilities in extending their authority and sovereignty over the entire national territory, emphasizing in this context the necessity of achieving the monopoly of arms by the Lebanese state as the fundamental pillar for preserving Lebanon's security and stability, and supporting the state option and safeguarding the capabilities of the Lebanese people.
