President Joseph Aoun affirmed before Catholic Armenian Patriarch Raffael B'dros the twenty-first Minasian and a delegation from the community that "the Armenian Lebanese play a positive role in building the nation, and their engagement in Lebanese society has produced essential support across all fields. This state protects everyone; the Lebanese are tired of fiefdoms and parallel institutions."

He pointed out that "the choices we have made are for the benefit of the Lebanese people, who are exhausted by war, with no hope except in a strong and capable state. We are not against parties, but they must play a positive role in building the state, not destroying it."

On his part, Patriarch Minasian stressed that "it is our duty to thank President Aoun and stand by him, and we encourage all institutions to continue on the path toward peace."
