During the Israeli cabinet meeting held on Thursday, a dispute arose regarding the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, as several ministers argued that the deal imposes excessive restrictions on the movements of Israeli soldiers.

Responding to these criticisms, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated, "You were the ones who wanted the ceasefire."

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir expressed his opposition to the ceasefire from the outset, explaining that he did not support it "for this exact reason."

He questioned, "What happens when a new threat emerges? If you see Hezbollah rearming, why don’t you dismantle its capabilities?"

Ben Gvir called for the termination of the ceasefire agreement, asserting that after several Israeli soldiers were injured by a bomb thrown by Hezbollah, "we can target and bomb hundreds of sites."

Supporting Ben Gvir's stance, Minister for National Missions Orit Strook said Israeli forces in Lebanon "feel like they are in a shooting range," adding, "It is better to respond immediately to every threat."

In contrast, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that soldiers respond to any immediate threat, stating, "We do not impose any restrictions on any soldier."

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz backed Netanyahu’s position, noting, "There are pros and cons to the ceasefire, but we do not expose any soldier to danger, and every soldier can respond immediately."
