Clarification from the Ministry of Finance Regarding Referrals of Company Names
The Ministry of Finance issued a clarification correcting reports that it referred hundreds of companies to the Central Bank's Special Investigation Commission, stating referrals are made to the Public Financial Prosecution instead.

The Media Office at the Ministry of Finance issued a clarifying statement regarding "what some media outlets published about its referral of the names of hundreds of companies to the Special Investigation Commission at Banque du Liban to scrutinize their activities, and the accompanying talk about collecting names of companies and individuals and referring them randomly, which requires a correction on a fundamental point mentioned in the news.
Accordingly, the Ministry confirms that the referrals it makes are to the Public Financial Prosecution, not to the Special Investigation Commission at Banque du Liban, contrary to what was published and circulated. This distinction is essential, as confusing the two entities gives an inaccurate picture of the referral process and the procedures followed.
On this occasion, the Ministry calls on media outlets to consult it to verify information related to its work before publishing it, out of concern for accuracy and to avoid building conclusions on incorrect data. Hence, the clarification was necessary."
