Former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt and Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Taymour Jumblatt met French presidential envoy to Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian during a dinner held in their honor at the French embassy in Beirut.

The former president of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, and the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, met the French presidential envoy to Lebanon, Jean-Yves Le Drian, during a dinner held in their honor at the French embassy in Beirut, in the presence of member of the "Democratic Gathering" MP Wael Abu Faour and the French ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the necessity of full commitment to the ceasefire, the Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, and securing the return of the people of the south to their towns and villages safely and with dignity.
The attendees also stressed the necessity for the Lebanese state to fulfill its duties towards the displaced by establishing adequate shelter centers, which contributes to providing suitable conditions for launching the upcoming academic year and ensuring students' right to education.
Likewise, Jumblatt and the head of the party expressed their appreciation for the French role supporting Lebanon, and thanked France for its ongoing efforts in supporting Lebanon's internal stability and enhancing the unity of its people and institutions.
