Rakan Nassereddine, the Minister of Public Health, continued his visit to hospitals in southern districts including Tyre, Bint Jbeil, and Nabatieh, with a stop at Tebnine Governmental Hospital. He was accompanied by the ministry’s Director General, Wiam Abu Hamdan, and the Head of the Hospitals Department, Dr. Hisham Fawaz. They were received by MP Ayoub Hamid, the hospital’s director Dr. Mohammad Hammadi, the President of the Al-Qalaa Municipalities Union Nabil Fawaz, municipal leaders, security officials, the Bint Jbeil district doctor Moussa Jaber, and the hospital’s medical and administrative staff.

During his visit, Nassereddine toured the hospital’s departments, inspecting the extent of damage caused by Israeli attacks and checking on patients.

The delegation then gathered in one of the hospital’s halls for a meeting where the hospital director expressed gratitude to the minister for his timely visit, describing it as a meaningful humanitarian gesture. He also thanked the ministry for all the services provided during the crisis and outlined several needs the hospital faces following damage sustained during the war. He emphasized that the hospital had continuously operated to treat the wounded and provide various medical services, stressing the importance of maintaining its operation as it remains the only hospital open in the area after the closure of Bint Jbeil Governmental Hospital and the Martyr Salah Ghandoor Hospital in Bint Jbeil city.

Meanwhile, the President of the Al-Qalaa Municipalities Union thanked the Health Minister for visiting the hospital, which he described as the primary health defense line during the war’s aftermath. He noted that the hospital received wounded individuals and displaced patients, delivering all medical services under exceptional conditions and limited resources. He called for ongoing support from the ministry to ensure the hospital can continue serving patients and displaced persons at the ministry’s expense.

He also stressed the need for the ministry to address the medical, administrative, and nursing staff who suffered losses during the war, including the destruction of their vehicles parked near the hospital, and called for compensation to enable them to continue fulfilling their duties.

He highlighted the necessity of establishing and equipping a health card issuance office affiliated with the ministry within the region’s geographic scope, praising the resilience of the medical and administrative teams, led by hospital director Dr. Mohammad Hammadi.

Finally, he expressed gratitude to President Berri for his ongoing support of the hospital.

MP Ayoub Hamid saluted the staff working at the hospital, acknowledging their efforts to provide medical services under fire to steadfast residents, displaced persons, and war casualties. He thanked the Health Minister for his visit, which he said carried a humanitarian dimension, and emphasized the importance of supporting the hospital to sustain its operations as the sole remaining medical facility in the area.

Hamid also commended the significant role and sacrifices made by doctors and nurses who remained at the hospital despite difficult security conditions.

The Health Minister, who had monitored the hospital’s operations throughout the war, praised its endurance and continued function, lauding the heroic role of the medical and administrative staff.

Affirming that the hospital requires comprehensive support, he announced a financial grant of $250,000 to the hospital administration to enable it to fulfill its role in providing healthcare to the resilient local population.
