Health Minister Rakan Nasrallah emphasized the need for continued international support for Lebanon's national vaccination program amid ongoing health sector challenges.

Minister of Public Health Rakan Nasrallah received a delegation from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi) as part of a one-week technical mission aimed at assessing the current state of child immunization in Lebanon, reviewing achievements and challenges, and identifying priorities for future support.
Nasrallah stressed during the meeting "the importance of maintaining international support for the national vaccination program, particularly in light of the multiple challenges facing Lebanon's health sector," while also underscoring "the state's role in securing sustainable domestic financing for primary healthcare and vaccines, considering this a fundamental pillar for ensuring service continuity and strengthening national ownership of the program."
The delegation will meet with technical teams at the Ministry of Public Health, several primary healthcare centers, local and international partners, and the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG), to gain an in-depth understanding of the national vaccination program and its implementation mechanisms.
The Ministry of Public Health continues, through the national vaccination program under the Primary Healthcare Directorate, efforts to ensure access to immunization services for all children, Lebanese and non-Lebanese alike, in cooperation with partners, thereby safeguarding children and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
