Israel reports a second missile salvo from Iran, intercepting four in the first wave, following Israeli strikes on Beirut's southern suburb.

The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it detected a second missile salvo launched by Iran toward Israel, adding that it intercepted four missiles from the initial volley.
Explosions were heard in central Israel after the Iranian missile launches, which came as a response to Israeli airstrikes targeting the southern suburb of Beirut.
The Israeli army confirmed it had reinforced its defense systems and stated it remains "in a state of readiness and alert for a wide range of defensive and offensive scenarios," alluding to the possibility of retaliatory attacks by Iran and Hezbollah following the strikes on Beirut's southern suburb.
In light of these developments, Chief of Staff General Eyal Zamir and military commanders are currently conducting "continuous assessments of the situation and are closely monitoring the developments," according to an official statement.
The Israeli military urged residents in the northern regions to "remain vigilant, act responsibly, and adhere to the instructions issued by the Home Front Command, which are being updated continuously."
Israel has intensified its operations against Hezbollah on multiple fronts. In Beirut's southern suburb, Israeli Air Force jets carried out a precise strike on Sunday afternoon that destroyed an apartment where mid-level Hezbollah operatives were gathering.
General Zamir provided the intelligence to the political leadership, which approved the operation within minutes, as reported by the Hebrew newspaper Maariv.
According to a military source, Zamir emphasized to the political leadership the necessity to act "wherever it harms Hezbollah," stressing the importance of not hesitating.
The Israeli army maintains that Hezbollah operates on behalf of Iran and has recently been compelled to relocate its headquarters and infrastructure to residential apartments, tents, and alternative sites after the destruction of its main facilities in the southern suburb.
The military holds an updated list of "targeted elimination" objectives against Hezbollah, as well as a list of locations and properties used by the group as substitutes. Meanwhile, the army continues to pressure the political leadership to approve large-scale operations against Hezbollah's remaining infrastructure and targets.
According to Maariv, the Chief of Staff has approved a series of plans for the northern command that allow for continued fighting in Lebanon. A military source indicated that Israeli airstrikes are currently taking place in the "yellow line" area and extending deeper into Lebanese territory.
The Iranian Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters warned on Sunday that "Israeli attacks on Beirut's southern suburb will not go unanswered," according to their statement.
Additionally, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, revealed that Iran will respond to the targeting of Beirut's southern suburb "tonight."
