Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon Reportedly Halted Amid Uncertainty

An Israeli military source told the Maariv newspaper that uncertainty surrounds the continuation of the operation in Lebanon, noting that the air force has ceased attacks on Lebanon since yesterday.

Maariv reported confusion and embarrassment within the Israeli security apparatus, stating that as of late Monday afternoon, the Israeli army and security system were unaware of the direction of Israeli combat operations in Lebanon.

The report added that after a prolonged period of calm in the northern sector, the air force launched an attack on a Hezbollah operative approaching forces in the Salouqi area.

A military source indicated that this operation aimed to eliminate a direct threat to the troops.

The source further explained, "We continue operations in the Yellow Line area. We conduct reconnaissance and raids in villages adjacent to the Yellow Line, but we do not know our destination. We are currently preparing plans for every scenario: continuing and escalating the fighting, holding our positions, or withdrawing forces."

He added, "We are awaiting orders from our superiors. We will continue our operations until we receive further instructions."

Currently, two Israeli army divisions are deployed in Lebanon: the 91st Division and the 36th Division.
