Israeli army spokesperson Ella Wa'awi wrote on her account on the "X" platform:

"Lebanon is not an enemy of Israel. The problem is Hezbollah, which repeatedly drags Lebanon into destruction and deprives the Lebanese of stability, security, and prosperity. If Hezbollah ceases violating agreements and refrains from hostile activities, calm and stability can be achieved for both Israeli and Lebanese sides. The presence in the security zone aims to remove threats and dismantle the military structures Hezbollah has built over the years, not to harm Lebanese citizens.

A different future is possible for the Lebanese people—a future based on stability, development, and prosperity instead of a cycle of ongoing confrontations. The Lebanese people deserve a strong state, a thriving economy, and institutions that serve their citizens, not a terrorist project serving foreign interests. The more Hezbollah’s influence declines, the greater Lebanon’s chance to regain its sovereignty, make its own decisions, and build a more stable and secure future. Lebanon’s future begins the day Hezbollah stops holding the state hostage and allows Lebanon the opportunity to choose its own path."
