Israeli Official Denies Hezbollah Presence at Shaqif Fortress
Israeli military reports no Hezbollah fighters or weapons found at Shaqif Fortress amid ongoing operations in southern Lebanon.

An Israeli official stated that the army did not find any Hezbollah militia members inside the Shaqif Arnoun Fortress in southern Lebanon, nor were any weapons or military equipment discovered at the site.
The official clarified that field intelligence does not indicate any Hezbollah military activity within the fortress during recent operations in the area, according to a correspondent from Axios.
The Israeli army announced that its forces have eliminated 900 Hezbollah members since the ceasefire took effect, as part of ongoing military actions against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
The army further explained that its air force has been conducting raids since morning targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the city of Tyre and other areas in southern Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities and locations suspected of military use.
The statement added that these operations are occurring alongside an expansion of military activity in the Shaqif Heights (Al-Boufor), where weapons depots, manned positions, and other infrastructure linked to Hezbollah were targeted.
The army noted that these sites were “used by Hezbollah members to plan and carry out attacks against its forces,” confirming that military operations in the region continue.
