17 Cases of Food Poisoning in Halba Due to Éclair Pastries
Seventeen people, mostly children, were hospitalized in Halba after suffering food poisoning from consuming éclair pastries. Authorities are investigating the source of the contaminated sweets sold by a street vendor.

Patients suffering from food poisoning were admitted to Dr. Abdullah Al-Rassi Government Hospital in Halba – Akkar, most of them children, after consuming "Éclair" pastries. It was reported that four of them had also consumed meat in the towns of Bbenin and Tel Maayyan.
Hospital Director Dr. Mohammad Khadrine confirmed that medical teams are providing all necessary first aid and treatments to the patients, noting that some cases left the hospital after improving, while it turned out that 17 cases required hospitalization to complete treatment and medical follow-up, including two Syrian nationals.
Akkar Governorate Doctor Dr. Hassan Al-Adraa clarified that security agencies are conducting investigations with one of the street vendors to determine the source of the pastries that caused the poisoning cases.
Al-Adraa described the condition of the hospitalized patients as stable, urging parents not to buy or consume pastries from street vendors unless they verify their source and safety of preparation.
