Jeb Jenin Prison Joins General Amnesty Strike
Dozens of inmates at Jeb Jenin prison in West Bekaa joined an open-ended hunger and medication strike protesting the freeze on the general amnesty law.

The "Committee of Families of Prisoners in Lebanon" announced that dozens of inmates at Jeb Jenin prison in West Bekaa have joined an open-ended hunger and medication strike, protesting the freezing of the general amnesty law, marking a new expansion of strikes within Lebanese prisons.
The committee stated that the prison administration is exerting pressure and disciplinary measures against the strikers in an attempt to force them to abandon the strike, noting tightened surveillance on their communications with families and scrutiny of calls, aiming to prevent the leak of news regarding their participation in the movement.
It added that information leaked despite this through sources inside the prison, indicating that the joining of prisoners from Jeb Jenin follows the extension of the strike, which began at Roumieh prison, to several other prisons over the past few days.
The "Committee of Families of Prisoners" called on the Jeb Jenin prison administration to halt any punitive measures or pressures against the strikers, affirming the inmates' right to peaceful protest, and demanding that authorities guarantee their safety and rights and not restrict their communications due to their participation in the strike.
