Lebanese Army Commander Rudolf Heikal Departs for Pakistan on Official Visit
Lebanese Army Commander Rudolf Heikal has left for Pakistan following an official invitation from Pakistan's military leadership amid regional diplomatic efforts.

Lebanese Army Commander Brigadier General Rudolf Heikal has departed Lebanon to visit Pakistan in response to an official invitation extended by Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Pakistan Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Pakistan is currently mediating between the United States and Iran, with Tehran linking the achievement of an agreement to the cessation of conflicts on all regional fronts, particularly in Lebanon.
Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, cautioned against what he described as a grave strategic error by those who believe that conciliation offers a solution to the region's crises. He emphasized that "the new power structure will not be built at the expense of the resistance," alluding to Lebanon's involvement in negotiations with Israel.
Velayati further stated that "diplomatic illusions come at a high cost, and lasting peace only emerges from a balance of power, not from empty promises."
