Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri held a phone conversation this evening with Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, focusing on the latest political and security developments in Lebanon and the wider region, as well as reviewing the terms of the agreement reached between Iran and the United States.

During the call, Araghchi briefed Speaker Berri on the details of the understanding, highlighting that one of its key provisions is the cessation of Israeli aggression against Lebanon. He emphasized that this provision must be implemented immediately from day one and maintained throughout the sixty-day negotiation period.

The Iranian Foreign Minister underscored that the responsibility for ensuring adherence to this provision lies with the United States and the guarantor parties of the memorandum, to guarantee respect for the agreement and to prevent any new escalation.

He also acknowledged all efforts aimed at enhancing stability and mitigating the repercussions of the present situation.
