Lebanese Tourism Minister Discusses Cooperation with Sri Lankan and Venezuelan Ambassadors
Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud met with Sri Lanka's and Venezuela's ambassadors to explore ways to strengthen bilateral tourism cooperation.

Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud received the newly accredited Sri Lankan ambassador to Lebanon, Anura Weerathunga, in a formal introductory visit. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions included key topics aimed at revitalizing tourism activity, such as the potential to hold joint conferences and seminars, particularly in the medical sector. Both parties also emphasized the importance of opening the Qlayaat Airport.
Additionally, Minister Lahoud met with Venezuelan Ambassador José Piomburgi Mozatier to review bilateral ties and explore cooperation possibilities, especially through the Lebanese community in Venezuela, which numbers approximately 500,000.
Ambassador Mozatier highlighted the need to leverage Lebanon’s distinguished and longstanding expertise in hospitality and hosting. He also stressed the importance of organizing events and seminars in artistic and cultural fields to foster closer connections between peoples and societies.
Minister Lahoud assured her guests that the Ministry of Tourism continues to work intensively to maintain constant readiness within the tourism sector to welcome visitors and provide services befitting Lebanon’s tourism stature.
