Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud states that ongoing conflicts and unstable security have negatively impacted Lebanon's current summer tourism season.

Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud emphasized that Lebanon's tourism and economy cannot thrive without security and stability. She highlighted that the recent consecutive wars and unstable security conditions have adversely affected the current summer tourism season.
In an interview with Sawt Kul Lebanon, Lahoud noted that while many wish to visit Lebanon, they are awaiting positive news about the end of the war. She stressed the necessity for the state to fully assert its authority over the entire territory and enforce the decision to monopolize arms possession, which would encourage the return of expatriates and boost tourism.
Lahoud revealed that bookings remain low so far. She explained that the ministry lacks precise data on visitor numbers during the summer due to the absence of digital systems. Consequently, the ministry is working on an electronic digitization project aimed at supporting the tourism sector's growth, attracting more investments, and creating greater employment opportunities for Lebanese citizens.
Regarding the return of tourists from Gulf countries and Saudi Arabia to Beirut, she pointed out that the number of Arab tourists remains modest and that increased confidence is needed to improve these figures.
