The Lebanon Electricity Board warns that failing to pay monthly bills will result in immediate power cuts, emphasizing strict adherence to settlement mechanisms for public institutions and municipalities.

The Board of Directors of Electricite du Liban announced in a statement, following its previous statements regarding the cutting of electricity supply to government departments, public institutions, and municipalities that have failed to settle their dues, that "a large number of concerned parties flocked, on the third day of this ongoing campaign, to the institution to review arrears schedules and match invoices and receipts, in preparation for settling their financial situations."
It indicated that "settlements were made according to the mechanism adopted by the institution, which is based on restoring supply after paying an initial installment and providing a written commitment specifying how the amounts will be paid, with a commitment to regularly pay monthly bills."
It affirmed that "contrary to what some are circulating, no party had its electricity supply restored without committing to the aforementioned conditions, and all cases of restoration were carried out according to the approved standards."
It also confirmed that it "does not endorse the unofficial lists circulated in the media, including names of departments, institutions, numbers, and amounts," calling for "accuracy and reliance solely on what is issued by Electricite du Liban."
It clarified that "this campaign aims to collect dues, improve collection rates, and establish regularity in bill payments. As for announcing claims and warnings through the media, it falls within the framework of notifying concerned parties and informing public opinion about the measures taken. The institution fulfilled its duty professionally and responsibly, far from any showmanship."
The Board thanked "all parties that responded and cooperated, and everyone who supported this campaign positively," appreciating "the efforts of the institution's employees and relevant teams," and confirming that "this follow-up will continue until all arrears are settled," noting that "any breach of new settlements or failure to pay monthly bills regularly will lead to immediate re-cutting of electricity, as communicated and agreed upon with those concerned."
