Issued by the Maghdoushe Municipality, a joint statement from it, and from MP Dr. Michel Moussa, the mukhtars of Maghdoushe, and the parish priest, containing the following:

"To give room for the security agencies to follow up on the file of this serious development, rejected by all the people of Maghdoushe and its active figures, the gathering that was scheduled for six o'clock this evening will be replaced by the following statement:

The active figures of Maghdoushe condemn the attacks that occurred yesterday, and also strongly denounce all actions that breach security and the assault on the municipal police tasked with maintaining security and stability. Accordingly, the attendees appeal to the security forces to assume responsibility for security in the town and to diligently work towards establishing a fixed post for the Lebanese army in Maghdoushe, to avert what may lead to dire consequences and to strike with an iron fist against anyone who tampers with civil peace. The army and security forces are required to protect unarmed civilians and control the situation.

Please note that any statement not issued by the Maghdoushe Municipality is considered completely unfounded in all its details."
