Minister Ghassan Salameh met with French Minister Eléonore Caro to discuss safeguarding southern archaeological sites and aiding displaced individuals.

Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh held a working lunch with French Minister of International Cooperation and Francophonie Eléonore Caro in Jbeil, attended by the French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro and his aides.
Following the meeting, the group visited the Jbeil Castle site, known as Byblos, to closely examine the French-Lebanese collaboration in the field of antiquities, accompanied by Director General of Antiquities Sarkis Khoury.
The visit included a tour of the site, during which they explored possibilities for expanding cooperation and future work at the location, building on the efforts the Directorate General of Antiquities has undertaken with the Louvre Museum in Paris over the past ten years.
Minister Salameh and his French guest discussed various areas of cooperation, particularly focusing on assistance for displaced persons resulting from the Israeli aggression, as well as the protection and preservation of archaeological sites across Lebanon, especially those currently most at risk in the south.
