Nine Girls Arrested in Prostitution Ring in Souk El-Tawil

Lebanese Internal Security Forces arrested nine women in a prostitution network operating in the Souk El-Tawil district of Beirut. The suspects, mostly Brazilian and Uzbekistani nationals, were apprehended along with hotel staff aware of illegal activities.

Announced by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Section: "In the framework of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes of all kinds, particularly human trafficking and prostitution-related offenses, information was obtained by the Human Trafficking Unit and the Protection of Literature Division within the Judicial Police Unit regarding the operation of an 'Escort' network engaged in prostitution in Beirut, specifically in the Souk El-Tawil area.

Following investigations and inquiries, it was established that this network is centered in one of the hotels in the aforementioned locality.

As a result, patrol units managed to arrest /9/ women on the spot, who are: /6/ Brazilian nationals, /2/ Uzbekistani nationals, and one Moldovan national. Monetary proceeds from prostitution activities were also seized from their possession.

During questioning, the nine detained women confessed to engaging in prostitution and working within an organized network run by two individuals outside Lebanese territory, known by the aliases "Yulia" and "Max".

Additionally, the hotel owner and two employees were detained after evidence confirmed their knowledge of prostitution activities taking place within the hotel premises.

Legal procedures were carried out against the detained individuals, pursuant to instructions from the competent judicial authorities."
