President Aoun Calls for Final End to the War

President Joseph Aoun affirmed that maintaining the presence of UNIFIL is the best approach for the upcoming phase, and if that is not possible, establishing a replacement force to take its place would be necessary.

During a meeting with the European Union ambassador and a delegation of ambassadors and chargés d’affaires, Aoun urged the European Union to support the implementation of the "framework formula," noting that Lebanon’s stability reflects on the stability of the region’s countries.

He described his meeting with President Trump as productive and stated that the time has come to end the war completely. He also emphasized Lebanon’s commitment to the reform path and affirmed that despite the ongoing war, efforts continue to achieve the country’s goals.

In response, European Union Ambassador Sandra De Waele said that Lebanon stands at a crossroads and the beginning of a new chapter, expressing the EU’s support for Lebanon’s path toward security, stability, and reforms.
