Lebanon's Ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Muwad, hosted a dinner honoring President Joseph Aoun and the accompanying Lebanese delegation, attended by several members of Congress and officials from the U.S. administration.

During the dinner, President Aoun asserted that Lebanon cannot achieve security or unity unless it becomes one state with a single army that protects all Lebanese citizens without discrimination.

He emphasized that the Lebanese model deserves protection not only for Lebanon but also for the region, as it is based on the same foundation upon which the United States was built.

President Aoun pointed out that Hezbollah’s disarmament is possible if there is genuine commitment to removing occupation, allowing the army to take full control, and implementing a reconstruction program managed solely by the state.

Ambassador Muwad told President Aoun that his visit reflects their commitment to strengthening the historic ties between the two countries and working towards fulfilling the Lebanese people's aspirations for sovereignty, territorial unity, security, prosperity, and peace.
