Lebanese Transport and Public Works Minister Faisal Rassamni chaired a technical coordination meeting today for the Lebanese delegation tasked with following up on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) project. The session forms part of Lebanon’s broader engagement with regional initiatives designed to strengthen commercial connectivity and transport movement among participating countries, as well as to assess economic and investment opportunities the IMEC project may offer Lebanon.
The meeting examined preparations for Lebanon’s involvement in the corridor’s associated track, stressing the need for intersectoral coordination—particularly regarding the development of rail infrastructure to integrate it into the regional transport network. Such integration aims to reinforce Lebanon’s position within regional trade and transport maps. Discussions also covered potential avenues for leveraging Lebanon’s geographic location and functional role in energy and oil pipeline infrastructure.
Rassamni separately received MP Michel Al-Daher, who was accompanied by a delegation. The two discussed several developmental and service-related files. Al-Daher expressed appreciation to the minister for the works carried out by the ministry in the Dahr al-Baidar area.
The minister also met with MP Helima Qaqour. Their conversation addressed multiple files and issues related to the ministry’s responsibilities, alongside developmental and service-oriented topics.
