Roumieh Prison Hunger Strike Enters Day 14... 39 Critical Cases!

More than 400 prisoners in Roumieh Prison are continuing their hunger and medication strike for the 14th consecutive day, protesting the freezing of the general amnesty law.

A spokesperson for the prisoners stated that the health condition of the strikers has become more dangerous in recent hours, with the number of critical cases rising to 39, including two who were transported to hospitals in the capital, Beirut.

Inmate "A.A" was transferred to the hospital for the second time within 24 hours due to the continuous deterioration of his health. Meanwhile, a riot broke out among the prisoners because the inmate was transported in a vehicle not medically equipped, as an ambulance was unavailable.

In a humanitarian appeal, the strikers raised a banner calling on the media, stating: "An appeal to the free press, prisons are a humanitarian issue and death does not look at the prisoner's sect. Do not leave us alone before the monsters of politics; their electoral interests assassinate our last hope. You are our voice."
