President of the Republic Joseph Aoun discussed with Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar the country's security situation, measures taken to maintain security and stability, and plans aimed at enhancing security measures in various regions, particularly in the capital Beirut.
Al-Hajjar briefed President Aoun on the efforts being made by security agencies in combating drug smuggling, actions taken to dismantle trafficking networks, and the measures adopted to control borders and tighten surveillance by the ministry's agencies.
The discussion also covered return and recovery procedures implemented by departments under the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, coordinated with southern municipalities, to support the return of displaced persons to their villages, ensuring public order and facilitating the repatriation process.
